I don’t have kids, a pet, a plant, a home, or a husband. But I do have a newsletter.
Though vows weren’t sealed with
"until death do us part,"
they’re crafted with intention,
a commitment to my own creativity and potentially yours.
Even this early on,
I’ve wanted to pack up,
to call it quits,
to let the whisper of doubt
drown out the voice of resolve.
Yet upon reflection, I choose to stay —
to nurture trials & triumphs,
and everything in between.
This newsletter is a microscope,
a lens through which we examine
the person we want to be.
Devotional. Creative. Resourceful.
Curious. Intentional. Comforting.
And yes, beautiful even in rawness.
In these times, we are tempted by the allure of escape, but I’m learning that tending to something,
anything,
really does create meaning in life.
Each word we write is a small act of rebellion,
a resistance against the mundane,
a declaration of existence.
To create is to be free —
to battle the inertia of indifference,
to push against the confines of fear.
The courage to face the blank page,
the strength to share our voice.
We can make it fun.
Creativity calls us to responsibility,
not just to ourselves,
but to the world we inhabit.
It takes a deliberate choice to embrace this responsibility,
to understand that making something
the fullest it can be requires a commitment
to the process itself.
Writing weekly allows insights
that occasional participation often misses,
creating a deeper connection to our “work”.
We crave accountability and structure,
for they guide us in our endeavors.
In this dance,
we find not just ourselves,
but each other —
a collective pulse of possibility.
Let’s hold this responsibility close,
for in it lies the potential for transformation,
not just of our lives,
but of the world, we dream to create.
All Things,
MG
